Every great athlete needs to take care
of their most important asset – their feet.

Footcare specialist Scholl today launched its first athlete’s foot care clinic at the new Lee Valley Athletics Centre in the London borough of Haringey.
Expert biochemist and podiatrist from The University of Salford, Barry Richards, hosted the session which looked at the stress athletes put on their feet through constant training and competition.
Joined by Chris Tomlinson, British long jump record holder, Jeanette Kwakye, British record holder for 60m and Adam Scarr, the talented British high jumper, Barry focused on particular events in which the athletes compete in and potential areas of weakness that can be improved through careful care and preparation.
The focus then turned to day to day exercise and how a member of the general public can ensure that their feet are kept in the best possible shape for the exercise they regularly undertake.
Barry Richard’s comments: “Keeping your feet in the optimum condition is very important to all athletes, whether they are professional or just casual. In order to maintain top performance every athlete from recreation to elite level should know the essential steps needed to prepare their feet for regular exercise.”
Barry used a variety of Scholl footcare products to demonstrate daily footcare, including Cracked Heel Repair Cream, Deep Moisturising Cream, Clear Gel Blister Plasters, Odour Control Insoles, Scholl Advance Athlete Foot Cream, Freshstep Refreshing Foot Spray and other Scholl products designed to treat the unique needs of athletes’ feet.
Heather Wallis, Brand Team Leader for Scholl, comments: “As the official footcare sponsor for UK Athletics we pride ourselves on the products we can provide for the British team to help them reach the highest possible levels of performance.”
